Electronic Signal Column

In or around the engine room of ships it can be very noisy; so to communicate with the crew working in these areas, extra signaling is required. A wide range of signal columns, horns and flashlights are used for this purpose.

The new Eekels signal columns are based on the SCU1 unit. This unit has outputs for signal lamps to show the status of input contacts and has central outputs for horns and flashlights. Depending on the layout of the engine room it may be necessary to place several units at suitable points. The SCU-1 units have serial connections for coupling them together in these situations.

The master unit, selected with jumpers, is connected to all the input contacts and the other units act as slaves.

The SCU-1 can be integrated with customer systems or it can be supplied with the panel signal column, SCU-1P and the free mounting signal column, SCU-1K.
