Alarm Monitoring System

The Eekels alarm system EAS /05 is for the centralized presentation and supervision of alarms in marine installations. It combines a standard modular approach with simple installation and ergonomics.

The Eekels alarm system EAS /05 replaces the 4th generation alarm system, which was based on printed circuit boards and conventional electronics. The new system is built with standard well-proven components and modules like the Siemens S7-300 Programmable Logic Controller. The system is extendable to a large alarm system with up to 2000 digital and analog alarm inputs. The system includes standard functions for main drive and power checks including the display of key indicators such as cylinder temperature.

An Operator Panel is used for configuring alarm inputs and displaying status and raw values of analog inputs.

An alarm input has a few settings:

• Alarm delay time
• Alarm set point for analogue inputs
• Bridge group (1 -12)
• Inhibit group (1 -8 )

• Digital in (normally closed contacts)
• Thermocouples (NiCrNi)
• Pt100 (3 and 4 wires)
• 4-20mA ;passive and active, including terminals for meter connection
• Other types are available on request

• Use of standard well-proven and certified industrial components
• Easy to modify or expand due to the modular concept
• All types of alarm indication and operator interfaces are possible including LED and Touch screen
• LED indication on all inputs is standard for easy diagnosis
• Use of separate terminal boards for different wiring systems, avoiding the use of extra terminals and junction boxes

• Based on the Siemens S7-300 programmable logic controller with back plane for standard input/output modules
• 32 digital inputs per digital input module including LED status indicators and labels
• Digital inputs with adjustable time delay

• Analog inputs for temperature measurements such as the temperature of the exhaust gas of the main engine
